Day notes!

"Generally speaking, the most miserable people I know are those who are obsessed with themselves; the happiest people I know are those who lose themselves in the service of others...By and large, I have come to see that if we complain about life, it is because we are thinking only of ourselves."
— Gordon B. Hinckley

Football game...(Night before Temple Trip)

So, we had a football game at our school. We were playing agianst Fernley. Alison Banks, Meghan Anderson and I went to the game at 5:30 from the church, because my mom had a Primary Activity. We went saw my football player out on the sidelines. Got something to eat with one of my really, really good friends Jessica Woodland. We both got Pizza. Jorey... (My football player...) Did not play in the game, because he says "I didnt go to practice." Well anyway, the JV game is over, Jorey finds me and we hangout....YADA YADA... story goes on. Both teams loose. The Varsity games gets over at 10. Went to bed at 12. Then having to wake up at 4 getting ready for the temple Trip. I was tired.

Dance...After Temple Trip

So we get home at 6:30 from the temple trip, and about 5 minutes later had to get back in the car and leave for the stake dance. Ugh, I was so tired. :( But happy because we had a stake dance... :) The stake dance was at 7 and ended at 10. fun! It was fun. I had a blast after an hour of being all sad. I was crazy! I danced in Circe's around my friend Meghan Anderson, and danced with Missionary,(I call Adam Brand missionary because he is really tall! And he wants to go on a mission after graduation).

There was a song that it was a Hawaiian theme and we have girls who moved to Elko from Hawaii. They danced there way (However you call it...) and it was amazing! They are so cool!

Then we wnet home...dindt go to bed till 12. Because I watched Pushing Daisys with my mom, fell asleep suring it. Then woke up, got in y Pj's and went on the computer when my mom told me no, after i get home from the dance. (She was asleep when I got on).

Then tried watching Dear John, didnt work. Tried watching Forever Strong. Still didnt work. So, I just went to bed.

Temple Trip

Last weekend Spring Creek Second Ward of Elko East Stake went to the Salt Lake Temple for Baptims for the Dead. We had about 15 youth go. So it was a small group but a wonderful experience. We meet at the church around 6:00-6:30. We left at 6:30-6:45. We had to be at the temple at 12:00 utah time. Makayla and I rode in a car of 5seats. The car contained of Alli Jensen, Serria Hammer, Lindsey Bessert, Makayla, and, my self. We rode with the Kimberly and Josh Sant. On the ride there, I read my book, (and fell asleep...). We made a song, that is really crazy, that will not be mentioned (Its a secret). The trip was a 3 hour long trip. but it went really fast. Maybe because it was so much fun.

We get to the temple first. And explored the North side Visitors center. We come back, and enter the temple.

Ater we got out of the temple, we went to the South Visitors Center and saw a replica of the Salt Lake Temple. Then we went and got a tour of the confrence center. The builing is huge, but wonderful. During the tour, I took my shoes of because my feet hurt, but I but them back on as we reached the roof (where the gardens are). We get back to the car, under the confrence room parking, got settled and went to the park.

At the park, we had lunch and saw these really weird men, half dressed. One saying "Hey ladies, smile for me. I'm not going to bite. Oh come on. Please. For me." We were scared and didnt smile. Our "parents" came. along with Kimberlys brother (because the Sant's had given them boxes. That is why we came to the park.) We taught Kimberly how to do the Hoe Down Through Down song, from Miley Cyrus.

Went back in the car, added more to the song, (Brother Sant gave some ideas...) Most of us feel asleep. I was sleeping, finished my book, and did my hair for the dance I had at 7.

We finally got home. Ya! I was tired.

The stake dance...

So, last month, Amanda Basset, Leia Young, and I went to the dance together. Well this happend before Leia's mom came and picked us up. The dance ended at 10. She picked us up at 11. We were so cold and we were eating cookies. I would up load pictures but it is not working. So for now, the pictures are on facebook. Once I get the pictures to upload, I will upload them.

Be True

Here is the talk I gave in Sacrament Mtg. SCARY!!!!

Alaina could hardly wait to try on the jeans she had bought at a garage sale. The fringed
denim pants were exactly what the other girls in her sixth grade class were wearing.

In her room, she pulled on the jeans, happy to find that the fit perfectly. Hearing a
crinkiling sound, she slipped her hand into a pocket and pulled out a crumpled
five-dollor bill.

She stared at it, hardly able to believe her eyes. Five dollors! That would pay for her
school field trip to the planetarium next week.

The five-dollor bill was more than just money. It was a way to help her family.
Ever since her dad had started his own consulting buisness last year, money had been
tight in her family. They had been eating out of their food storage. A half-smile
crossed her face. Alania and her brothers frequently joked about all the
ways her mom had found to serve cracked wheat.

The smile vanished as she recalled President Hinckley's talk about the Six Bs.
Be grateful.Be smart. Be clean. Be true. Be humble. Be prayerful.

Her family had talked about them in family home evening, and one of her friends
had given a talk on them in Primary. If she kept the money, she wouldn't
be true- not to her self or to her beleifs. She would not be clean, either.
Just the thought of keeping something that didn't belong to her made her
feel itchy. She knew she wouldn't enjoy wearing the jeans if she kept the money.

Alaina thought of the other Bs. Stealing - and that's what keeping the money
would be - wasn't being grateful, smart, humble, or prayerful. It went agianst
everything she believed.

Alaina unfolded the five dollor bill and placed it on the table. "I found
this in one of the pockets."

Mom nodded slowly. "What are you going to do with it?"

"Would you take me back to the garage sale? I want to give the money to the girl
who sold me the jeans."

At the garage sale, Alaina handed the money back to the girl and explained
how she'd found it in the jeans. The girl gave Alaina a puzzled look, then
thanked her.

Shakespeare said, " To thine own self be true..."

We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to
all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe
all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able
to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report
or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.
We beleive in being true. How very important it is to be true to our selves. Each of
us has a thing we call a conscience. We know the difference between right
and wrong. We don not have to be instructed concerning what is good and
what is evil. I think we know that. We know when we havedone the wrong thing, and
we suffer pangsof conscience. We know when we have done the right thing,
and we experience a sense of happiness. To be true to ourselves means being
an example of righteous living in all circumstances.
Being true to our selves means being honest. It means being honest in school. We cannot
afford to cheat or do anything of that kind. Suppose that you needed a life-saving
operation. You would want that opperation perforemed by a surgeon who had cheated
through medical school, would you? Of course not. We go to school to learn and to
equip ourselves for the work which we do in the future.
You must be honest with yourself and remain true to the covenants you have
made with God. It also means to act in accordance with who you are and what
you believe. It takes Courage. It requires you to be introspective, sincere, open-minded
and fair. Being true to yourself does not mean that you are inconsiderate or disrecpectful
of others. It means that you will not let others define you, make decisions for you
that you should make for yourself. Gordon B. Hinckely said we must be true to the very
best that is in us. Be true to one another. Look for the good in those around you,
and emphasize that good. Never go around gossiping about your associates or
speaking unkind words concerning them. Such words will only back fire to hurt you.
Reach out to help one another. All of us need help from time to time. We need
encouragement. We need friends who will stand by us through thick and thin.
Be true to our Eternal Father and His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ. Never forget
who you are. You are in very deed a child of God. He is your Eternal Father.
He loves you. You can go to him in prayer. Being true we can walk before our
Heavenly Father in faith. As President Hinckley stated, you can " walk in faith before
Him with with you heads high, proud of your membership in this great
cause and kingdom which he has restored to the earth in this, the last dispensation of
the fullness of times." We will gain wonderful blessings as we walk in faith before the
Lord, live up to our tremendous inheritance, and live true to the teachings of the Church.
May I repeat, "You know what is right and you know what is wrong. You know
when you are doing theproper thing. You know when you are giving strength to
the right cause." And that was said by President
Gordon B. Hinckely.

4 More left!

So, this year in seminary we were studying the Book of Mormon and to get a Honor Award, we have to read the entire Book of Mormon.

So I have only four more chapters to go! Ya!

My weekend part 2

When we woke up, we had pancakes and started watching The Proposal. Then Jessica had to leave. So Allie and I went to the marina. A nice little walk. It was fun. Then when we got back, she called her parents and 10 minutes later, she left. I went to clean up and staighten things up.

When I was done with that, I had an otter pop. More like 2. Ha. There it is! Fun!

My Weekend!

AHH! My weekend! What a fabulous time! I had a blast!

Lets see, Allie and Jessica were my friends who came over and hanged out on the last day of school. It was fun. When I got home, Allie was with me! (I did not have to go to the marina with her!) We ended up going to the shell so she could get something to eat.

Then we came home and jumped on the tramp. Fun. It took allie long time to get her to jump because her crush Johnny was there at the duck pond. Fishing. So we finnally got her on, after he left. So we were jumping. Brittany and her friend were walking to the pond to "Talk" and we were yelling like maniacks at them while jumping. Ha,we were weird!

Then we went over there after they came back. It was poring when we went so we got really wet. Then we came back and jumped on the wet trampoline. Jessica showed up and we did some fun games on the trampoline. I slipped a couple of times while jumping just because it was so wet.

We came inside and dried off. Went down stairs, in my room and watched The Blind Side. The thing that really made me MAD! Was Makayla! Now thinking of it, I dislike her. I am getting a temper. Anyway, She and her friend bring all of their blankets and pillows and just throw it on my bed and sit there like they owned my bed. I was so mad! Now mentioning it, I want to tackle her! Gosh she should know better! I was upset, and right now as well.

Makayla fell asleep, I woke her up and told her go to your room and fall asleep. After the movie ended, my friends and I went upstairs. Before I left, I told Makayla, right in front of her friend, to clean up your mess and fix my bed. So they just went to her room and talked for hours! The whole time we were watching 13 going on 30, they were talking about boys, youth confrence and more boys. Ha, It was intertaing. Then we were going to watch Avatar, but we all knew we weren't going to make it. So we got comfortable to go to sleep and stayed up and talked. We talked about things that bugged us. (Plus a little things got a little out of hand. such as things we wouldn't say in public.) Yep.

One of the scariest days of my life!

Okay so I was out in the sage brush...

I always go there, because it is so peaceful and relaxing...

Well I was eating my banana and walking toward the pond. Thinking about things, enjoying my time alone.

I got to the pond and enjoying my time. Well I was walking toward the mail boxes and all of the sudden I heard a snake!

I looked down and it was right under my feet. I was so freaked. All of the sudden, it started moving. I was frozen. I couldn't move. When it got in to the bushes and hid. I screamed my head of and droped my banana and ran. I didn't go through the bushes, I ran toward the mial boxes, down the road and strait to my house!

When I got home, I was litteraly shaking.

So there is an exciting day, yesterday.

Party on the Last day of school!

So My mom is being cool for once. Well let me take that back, she is fun and games when she wants to be. Well that is not true. She is always fun, if we don't get in trouble. Yep, thats better.

Anyway, she is letting us have a party with our friends. When I say our, I mean my sisters and brothers friends. So just imagine, that's Me, Makayla, Britany, Shaelyn, and Ryan plus friends. Makayla I belive is having two, I invited two (one according to my mom. I still have to tell her about the other one. I just invited her today.) tnen the rest are having one. I am not sure about Shaelyn though. She is sick last I heard.

My friends and I are going to have a blast. I have a T.V. in my room. So we could just hang in there and watch movies.

After school gets out at 11:45, here in a couple of minutes, yes I am on the cumputer at school during class. Anyways, My friend Allie, and I are going to the marina for at least an hour. Ps. she is not one of the ones coming. The ones that are coming are Selu and Jessica. So we are going to the marina to hang out!

To be honest though, I really don't want ot go. I want to read, more like finishing The Book Of Mormon. But I really dont have a say, just becasue, when you turn Allie down she is upset. Then when you do go, and you want her to go, you can;t tell her, you can't even ask when is your parents coming, Because, she gets that face like, Fine, or Okay. So ya. Anyway, last days is school! Ya!

My dreams!

Yes I have dreams. Everyone has dreams. I guess, I am a little out there, and some people call me wierd and a dork. But hey we all can't be perfect. If we were, there would be no fun in the world.

My dreams are simple. I guess it is like every typical american girl. Well let me take that back. Every LDS girl/ young women have things they want to do in their life. For me I think it is pretty simple.

After I graduate from High school, I want to attend University of Utah to become a Pediatric Nurse Practioner. I figured that UOU would be better fit for me because they are partners with Primary Childrens Medical centeR. And that is where I want to end up.

I also want to become a mom of six. Six being the highest and 4 being the loest. I had eight in mind, but I decied that was to much for me. After all I come from a family of 8. Including my self. And if you want to add my parents its of course, 10! Big right?

I am in love with the states Washingotn, Oregon, Texas, and North Carolina. I guess you could say Utah, But there is a perfect city I would like to live in. That is American Fork, UT.

As for me, I am just the obvious. I am differnt. And different is great! Like I said if the world was teh same it would not be fun.

When will school end!

I have 2 more days left of school! And guess what? Those last two days are all test and finials! Gross! I hate test! Plus I have summer school! Ya, all becasue I failed my firt semester of science. Ugh. I have it on Monday, so it wont interfer with a lot of things. And I dont have to take it again durning my sophmore year. Now all I have to do, is go talk to my counsler, see my schedule and see it I need to rearrange. My goodness, these last couple of days will be stress full. My goodness

I am lost in my life. I have no idea why. I am so confused. I don't know where to begin. Would it help by saying, I think I should run away and never come out. Or, well I am not sure. I feel as if I have no friends, no one to talk to, no one cares. I feel in the dark all the time.

You see, I try to be the best I can be. And not be so down on my self. Looking at the positive things that happens, but I am getting no where.

Its as if, all the good and positive things are going down the drain. Its as if, no one likes me any more. No one cares. Its like they say in their mind, "Oh, lets dicth Lorianne, she is so annoying." Oh, I don't know. I guess I am that way, according to people. This is why I hate High School. All the drama.

So far, I am getting along with my little siblings. We don't fight as much as we used to.

I am so confused. Am I changing? Am I really that mean or even annoying?

Saturday Temple Trip

On Saturday, we had a temple tirp. Connor Windus, Makayla and I planned out the seating arrangements for the car. Connor, Dillan Draper, Cowyln Trouten, Kenny, Trevor, Checotah Carroll, Makayla, and I were all going to sit in the Pedersons car. But it didn't work. Everyone rushed to their cars anad everyone seemed to run toward our booked car. Everyone got in except connor becasue Dan Dyer took Connors seat. The car next to us was Sister Katie Hammer. Her car was filled with guys. She didn't fill comfortable with taking them all, so the girls had to sit in her car. To be honest it was quite fun. We watched Ella Enchanted, and Get smart. We arrived at the Salt Lake Temple. We got in our white clothes and meet as youth in the Chapel. After that we did that we went and did conformations and then baptims. Its was amazing. After all the wonderful stuff, Makayla and I went and explored Temple Square. We took beautiful pictures of the temple and of the tulips. It was Beautiful. When we got back, everyone was out and we took pictures. After we departed form th4 group, our car, we went to tour the Confrence Center. It was wonderful. the spirit was so strong. I loved it. The confernece room was huge, but remarkable. It was wonderful. After we took our tour, we got in the car and well I guess you could say we took detours to find our way to the freeway. We finnaly made it. We stopped at Toole to get something to eat. We ate McDonalds. Then we got back in the car and started our 4 hour drive home. I fell asleep for about 45 minutes. When I woke up, we were blasting out music and singing along to it. It was fun. Then Checotah mentioned that we could get high off of Extra Gum. Then we all, Makayla, Checotah, Dana Fisk ntel and Kaelee Anderson were all laughing. Katie was getting really worried and took the gum away. We all said some pretty weird things and I will let you know this, what happens on the temple trip stays on the temple trip. So true.

Friday Dance

Friday we had a dance. Oh that dance was so much fun. It was the best one I've been too. My friends and I danced to every song, well atleast the fast ones. The slow ones was fun too. I danced with Kenny Crist, Monte Swensen, and Trevor Maybe. Fun. I was text Ricky Hana on my friends Amanda Lloyd's cell phone. It got really interesting. He wasn't able to come to the dance because he was out of town. Soccer camp. I was a little upset. But not to bad. He called me on her phone. We talked about why he wasn't coming to the dance. After that little chat, we wnet back to texting. I asked him if he would promise to come to the next dance. He said i'll try. I told him in return, that I am tired of the 'I'll tries'. He said yes. So he promised. Then I said I miss you. I think that is bad that I said that because last time I checked he had a girlfriend. But he responded in a sweet way. The bad part is that I don't remember what he said. Some was about how he missed us hanging out on the health office. But that is all I could remember. The slow songs were fun. I danced with Kenny at least 3 times. Trevor 2 and Monte 1. I danced with Kenny on one of my favorite songs. Its was "When you say you love me" by Josh Groban. It was an amazing night. When I got home from the dance, my parents asked how the dance was and I said fun and amazing. They told me we know. We went to your dance and say that you were having fun, and that they were laughing at me. Ha.

Seminary

Seminary was some what of a drag. It was long. I hate it when it's long. Especially when Sister Honey teaches. It takes forever when she teaches and we always get out late. She knows it too. And I am somewhat lying in seminary. I mean its not that bad. I walk in the class room, pick up my beads, for the minutes we read each day of our scriptures. Normally I don't read, but I but my own beads in anyway. One weekend I said I read 350 minutes, another time I read 1000 and this weekend I read 900 minutes. As you can tell I am cheating my self. And to my seminary teacher asked where I am at in the Book Of Mormon and I answered "I am in Mormon, well around that area." to be exact I am only in The Book of Alma. So when I say I am done with the Book of Mormon, my personal progress leader will find out and then I pass that off, when I really aren't done. Blah, This is bad. I guess this tells you that I have a lot to do.

Today, was okay. My dad, Makayla, Brittany, Ryan and I went to church. The others were sick. At church, the youth chior sang Nearer my God to Thee, p. 100. It was beautiful. Durning sunday school, Kinzee wasn't feeling good and she aked me to give her lesson. So durning YW's I was teaching a lesson. It turned out pretty good. My leaders loved it. Sis. Amy Pederson, my Mia Maids leader wa impressed on how well I did and how I only had two hours to prepare. So, that was my weekend. Fun! It was amazing.
